Alex Fletcher é uma antiga estrela da pop dos anos 80, reduzido a ter de trabalhar à custa da nostagia de alguns, em parques de diversões e feiras. O carismático e talentoso músico tem uma hipótese de regressar à fama quando a diva da pop actual, Cora Corman o convida a escrever e gravar um dueto com ela. Mas há um problema, Alex não compõe há anos, nunca escreveu letras de canções...e tem pouquíssimos dias para fazer ambas.
